Amanda grew up in Washington state, where she found comfort in the natural world around her. Her functional ceramics pay homage to the origins of food and the complex, often flawed systems that bring food from the earth to our tables. Drawing inspiration from memories of her grandmother's garden and her time working on farms during college, Amanda's work reflects her deep connection to nature and agriculture.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Central Washington University. Afterward, she pursued Post-Baccalaureate study in Ceramics at the University of Montana. Amanda has been an artist-in-residence at several arts organizations across the country, including The Morean Center for Clay in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and Belger Crane Yard Studios in Kansas City, Missouri.
As a full-time studio artist, Amanda regularly participates in invitational and national juried exhibitions. Her work is held in both public and private collections worldwide. From September of 2023 to June 2024, she served as the Administrative Coordinator at the Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project. Most recently, she completed a six-month Project Residency at the Sonoma Community Center, where she continues to be based.
